By default, the Kickflip app embed replaces your theme's Add to cart button with a Customize button. This article explains how to show both buttons on the same product page.
There are two ways to set this up, depending on your product:
A. Your product page sells a standard product, and the Customize button opens the customizer of a separate Kickflip product.
B. The same product is sold both as is and customized, and you want to keep its variant picker and Add to cart button.
Both setups use the Kickflip Customize Button app block. See Shopify app blocks for how to add a block to your theme.
A. Link a standard product to a separate customizable product
Use this setup when the product on the page isn't connected to Kickflip.
In Theme Editor, open the product template used by your standard product.
Add the Kickflip Customize Button block.
In the block settings, select the Kickflip product the button should open.
Click Save.
No app embed change is needed. Since the page's own product isn't connected to Kickflip, the app embed leaves your theme's buttons visible.
See a live example here.
B. Sell the same product as is and customized
Use this setup when the product is connected to Kickflip and you want to keep its variant picker, Add to cart and Buy it now buttons.
In Customize button mode, the app embed hides these elements on every customizable product page, so you also need to change the app embed settings.
STEP 1 : Add the Customize Button block
In Theme Editor, open the product template used by your product.
Add the Kickflip Customize Button block where you want the button.
Connect the block's product setting to the dynamic source Product, so the button opens the customizer of the product on the page.
STEP 2 : Adjust the app embed
In Theme Editor, open App embeds → Customizer.
Keep the embed on. It displays the design details in the cart.
Set Integration type to Customizer only.
Under Product advanced settings, turn on Use advanced mode and leave Add customizer only selector empty.
Click Save.
IMPORTANT
App embed settings apply to your whole theme. Other customizable products that used the app embed's Customize button will also need the Kickflip Customize Button block in their template.
Good to know
Customized orders are added to the cart as the product's first available variant. Keep the variant you use for customized orders first in the variant list, and always available (don't track its quantity, or allow selling when out of stock).
The variant selected on the product page isn't passed to the customizer. Customers choose their options again inside the customizer.
