Questions can have different input types. Input types change the way your customers interact with a question. Different input types will be available for you to choose from based on the Display type of your question.

Selecting the Input type when creating a question

Click on the + button to create a question, then select the input type.

Changing the input type within an existing question

To change the input type of an existing question, open your question and look for Input type in the right side panel.

Thumbnail

Thumbnails buttons allow the end-user to choose one element from a predefined set of mutually exclusive options. Each button has a thumbnail image to help the customer understand their choice. If it's a color question and no image is uploaded, the thumbnail will be colored automatically. Thumbnail buttons are displayed in a line.

Uploading a thumbnail image

To upload a thumbnail image:

  1. Open your question by clicking on it in the left panel.

  2. In the right panel, click on an answer.

  3. This opens a properties panel. Under Thumbnail, click on browse or drop your image within the dotted rectangle area.

Large thumbnail

If you are using the Booklike theme, you can toggle on the Large thumbnail setting. Large thumbnail buttons work the same as thumbnail buttons, but are larger. They can be useful if you want to show your customers a bigger image.

Show name label

If you are using the Booklike theme, you can toggle on the show name label setting. That will display the answer name label under the answer.

If this setting is now toggled on, the answer name will be displayed in a tooltip that will appear when the mouse cursor hovers over the answer.

Dropdown

The dropdown menu allows the customer to choose a value from a list. No thumbnail image is displayed.

Radio buttons

Radio buttons allow the customer to choose one element from a predefined set of mutually exclusive options. The list is displayed without thumbnail images.

Label buttons

Label buttons allow the customer to choose one element from a predefined set of mutually exclusive options. In these labels, thumbnail images aren't displayed, only text.

When it comes to font questions, each font will be applied on the label buttons.

Text input

Text input allow the customer to answer a question by entering text.

File input

File input allow the customer to upload a logo/image file (PNG, JPG, JPEG, PDF, AI, EPS, HEIC).

Checkbox

The Checkbox input type allow the customer to choose one or multiple elements from a predefined set of options.

The Checkbox input type also allows you to set minimum and maximum selection quantities.

None (Behind the scene)

If you choose any input type other than "none", a question is added to your question panel.

Choosing "none" means you don't want the element to show up in the question panel. The element is placed "Behind the scene".

For example, you could place a background image behind the scene because the customers will not be interacting with it.
