The Bulk Ordering feature in Kickflip provides a streamlined solution for customers looking to personalize and purchase multiple products in a single transaction. This functionality is ideally suited for scenarios such as team merchandise procurement, corporate gifting, or any other instances where a personalized name, number or logo needs to be added to each item.
What is bulk ordering
For example, let's say I have a baseball bat customizer that allows customers to choose the type of wood and colors of the bat, but also the bat length and weight. I also offer a custom text option so players can have their names engraved on the bat. Bulk ordering comes in handy when I'm selling to a team with, let's say 15 players. This feature on my customizer makes it easy for coaches to order multiple bats for their players, with their preferred names, weights, and lengths.
There are two ways bulk order functionality appears in your customizer:
1. Accordion view
With the accordion view, customers can add items to their order while maintaining a visual preview of the product.
2. List view
The list view offers a more powerful editor that enables customers to quickly add items without previewing them.
Getting started with bulk ordering
Here's how to add bulk ordering to your customizer:
Log in to Kickflip and open your product.
Click on the blue + button and under 'Select an input type', pick Bulk order and hit Create.
In the left panel, the 'Untitled Bulk Order' appears.
The quantity field will be displayed if you do not add any questions to your Bulk Order.
A bulk order is like a group. Within it, you can drag and drop questions or create news ones. The questions within a bulk order become individual choices for each item.
Logic rules and bulk orders
There are a few things to keep in mind when creating logic rules including Bulk Order questions:
Questions located outside a Bulk Order can affect questions that are inside a bulk order.
Questions located inside a Bulk Order can not affect questions that are outside the Bulk Order.
Questions located inside a Bulk Order can affect other questions that are inside the Bulk Order.
Consider this custom hockey bag as an example:
Question 1 --> Bag Color : Red, Blue, Black
Question 2 --> Bag Material : Leather, Plastic
Bulk Order Question 1 --> Bag Size : Player, Goalie, Coach
Bulk Order Question 2 --> Embroidery
This logic rule will work :
When Bag Material is Leather then Bag size should not be Goalie.
This logic rule will not work:
When Bag Size is Goalie then Bag Material should not be Leather.
This logic rule will work :
When Bag Size is Player then Embroidery should not be available.
Managing bulk order settings
In order to manage bulk order settings, select the bulk order in the left side panel. The properties will appear in the right side panel.
Changing the bulk order title
To change the title of your bulk order, for example, from 'Untitled Bulk Order' to 'Team Order', simply type in your title under "Title".
List View settings
Changing the names of a bulk order question
To modify the name of a question within the list view of a bulk order, type it into the relevant text box.
Changing the width of a bulk order questions field
To modify the width of a bulk order questions field, click on the icon next to the relevant question.
Additional settings
Click on the Cog icon in the right side panel to access the bulk order additional settings.
Switching the product view when the customer interacts with the bulk order group
If your product has multiple views, you can make your customizer automatically switch to a relevant view when the user is interacting with the Bulk order. To do that, select the proper view number under Change view to.
Setting minimum and maximum quantities
The bulk order feature allows you to set minimum and maximum item quantities. For example, if you sell hats, you might want a set a minimum order quantity of 10 hats and a maximum order quantity of 50 hats. To do that, enter your quantities under Quantity settings.
Modifying the Add button label
To modify the Add button label, type your text in the field under 'Add button label'.

To modify the item label, type your text in the field under 'Item label'.
Bulk pricing
The bulk ordering feature comes with bulk pricing. With bulk pricing, you can set a price per item that decreases as the quantity of purchased items increases.
