Allowing customers to request a quote

Enable customers to request a quote with the Configure Price Quote add-on by replacing the ‘Add to Cart’ button with a ‘Get a Quote’ button.

The Configure Price Quote (CPQ) add-on allows your customers to easily request a quote after personalizing a product.

Instead of proceeding with the usual “Add to Cart” process, the “Add to Cart” button is replaced with a “Get a Quote” button, enabling customers to submit their details for a custom quote.

Once a request is received, a quote is automatically created in Kickflip, where you can adjust the pricing as needed, send a PDF of the quote to the customer, and convert the quote into an order to process payment once the customer approves it.

Enabling the 'Get a Quote' button for a product

  1. Log in to Kickflip.

  2. Go to the My Products page and open the product for which you want to enable ‘Get a Quote'.

  3. At the bottom of the left side panel, next to Add to cart, click on the edit icon.

  4. Within the right side panel, click on Get a quote. The 'Add to cart' button is now replaced by a 'Get a quote' button.

To control this setting, use the Show pricing toggle:

  • Enabled: Product pricing will be displayed in the customizer.

  • Disabled: Product pricing will be hidden from view.

How can customers request a quote

To request a quote, customers can personalize the product and, when ready, click the “Get a Quote” button. A modal will then appear where they can enter their name, email, and a message before submitting.

After submission, a confirmation modal notifies them that their quote request has been received and provide a quote identification number for reference.

Clicking on the Keep shopping button will take the customer back to your online store home page.

How does pricing work for the Configure Price Quote add-on?

The Configure Price Quote add-on is available for an introductory monthly add-on fee of $99 per month.

10 quotes included

Before purchasing the add-on, you can take advantage of 10 free quotes. After using your free quotes, any new quote requests received while your customizer is live will be saved in your account. To access these saved quotes, you need to purchase the add-on.

How does Kickflip charge transaction fees for quotes?

Transaction fees apply to quotes with a collected payment and an ‘Accepted’ status. Once payment is collected for a quote, the quote status will update to ‘Accepted,’ and an order will be automatically created in the Kickflip orders section. A transaction fee based on the total of this order will be applied according to your plan.

Troubleshooting

My quote does not sync with my order

If you notice that a draft order or a quote is missing its custom configuration or isn't appearing correctly in your Kickflip dashboard, the most common cause is a missing identification tag in Shopify.

When a quote is requested, the Kickflip plugin automatically creates a Draft Order in Shopify and applies a kickflip tag to it. This tag is the "digital glue" that connects the Shopify order to the specific custom design data on our servers. Do not remove the tag. If the tag is missing, you can re-add it and the quote should sync with the order.
