Phase 1 : Plan your configurator
Decide what you're building before you open Kickflip or touch an image.
Write out what customers can customize — each option is a question, each choice an answer

Phase 2 : Prepare your visuals
Every customizable part needs its own image layer. This happens outside Kickflip, in Photoshop or your 3D software.
Cut each customizable part into its own layer
Desaturate the layers you'll recolor — colors are applied on top, so the source needs to be white or grey
Export each layer as a transparent PNG, all at the same dimensions. Mismatched sizes are the most common reason parts don't line up on the product
Keep exports to around 1200×1200px and compress them, so your configurator loads fast → TinyPNG

Phase 3 : Build your configurator
With your images prepared, you can start assembling them into a configurator.
Create your product in the Kickflip dashboard
Add your images
Add color options and link them to your images
Add text options and upload your fonts
Add logo or image upload options
Add non-visual options like size
Set your default answers, what customers see when they arrive
Name your customizer
Choose a theme and style it to match your brand
